Accounting Manager

Role Introduction 

As our Accounting Manager, you will be overseeing our Project Accounting, AP, and Payroll teams, and be a resource for day-to-day decisions, answering questions and finding the best solutions to issues while adhering to MG2 business rules and goals. What your day will look like:

  • Supervise and manage project accounting, accounts payable and payroll day-to-day functions
  • Exhibits high attention to detail and desire to understand intricacies of project accounting responsibilities and challenges
  • Mentors and develops staff
  • Develop and maintain best practices for collecting, analyzing and reporting information
  • Proactively seeks improvement to the efficiency and effectiveness of workflows
  • Records financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and ensures audit quality documentation is readily available
  • Investigates and resolves inter-related accounting issues with other accounting functions
  • Ensures data integrity of accounting system
  • Communicates and supports the Architectural staff in their financial understanding of project performance in a way non-accountant can understand
  • Performs Project Accountant manager duties with contextual understanding as to how these activities integrate with financial performance and reporting of the finance team
  • Works collaboratively with Project Accounting team, as a positive role model, and a resource for day-to-day decisions, answering questions and finding the best solutions to issues while adhering to MG2 business rules and goals
  • Responds quickly and attentively to the requests of the Principals and Project Managers related to project phasing, contracts, billings, and reporting
  • Reviews and analyzes financial data of project reports with project managers to deliver successful project financial results
  • Researches and reconciles cost accounting discrepancies in projects
  • Responsible for efficient and timely billing processes
  • Ensures accurate project data through regular reviews and maintenance tasks
  • Assists project accountants with workloads as needed
  • Assist yearly audits by researching and providing data/reports
  • Researches and provides data/reports for special financial projects

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the AEC industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Deltek ERP preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Exhibits high accountability for the performance of the team
  • Full comprehension of complex project accounting

National Salary Range: $121,200 – $153,500

If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted.
