Design Lab Intern

Role Introduction 

The Design Lab Intern will have an opportunity to transform the material offerings to be sustainably-focused while being exposed to various project types and develop a deeper understand of materials and sources. They will gain insight in and become familiar with the design process while network building, working with vendors, and gaining knowledge on sustainable sourcing. 

What your day will look like:

  • Work with Design Lab Manager to continually update the Design Lab with new products and resources
  • Deep research on sustainable products and sources for both project-specific and general use
  • Programming of digital information database
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of the Design Lab
  • Manage ordering products and samples and assist teams in sample needs
  • Support firmwide Design Lab needs such as compiling samples or creating material board
  • Attend meetings with Design Lab Manager to learn about product releases, gain insight on design processes, and creating relationships with vendors and designers

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Must be able to be available for at least 20 hours per week or more. Hours are flexible. Must be in office.
  • Currently pursuing a design-oriented degree focused on Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design or adjacent industries at a 2nd year level or above.
  • Proficient with MS Office. Familiar with other design-related programs such as Adobe Suite, various CAD software, and rendering programs. Basic understanding of spreadsheet programs.
  • Comfortable with frequent communications over email, video, and phone.
  • Exhibits MG2 Practice Values of Integrated Approach, Design Excellence, Social Responsibility, Leadership, and Results.

National Hourly Range: $20/hour – $22/hour

If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted.
