Role Introduction
The Senior Project Designer will lead teams and clients in a variety of project types for our Community Environments (CE) and Client Programs (CP) Markets. The Senior Project Designer will work in multi-disciplinary teams, leading and soliciting contributions from all levels of expertise. In this role, you should inspire design thinking and technical excellence, serving as a role model and leader for other team members. Project types may include mixed-use commercial, industrial buildings, big box retail, and interiors.
What your day will look like:
Working closely with CE and CP Design Leadership and Principal-In-Charge, the Senior Project Designer will be responsible for the following:
- Lead clients and team through the entire process of Concept, Schematic, and Design Development
- Lead project design intent and goals for successful implementation
- Lead and collaborate with project design team, including consultants
- Partner with Principals in developing and leading design presentations for clients and government authorities, including connecting retail principals to consumer behaviors and business objectives
- Work closely with CE and CP Design Leadership and other Senior Project Designers
- Mentor junior staff, and contribute to office and market design culture
- Support marketing and business development activities
We’re looking for someone who:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Architectural licensure is preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in design of mixed-use commercial projects, including multifamily, industrial buildings, big box retail, and interiors
- Proven experience in the Unites States and/or internationally
- Ability to express concept via computer-generated visuals and hand-sketching
- Strong conceptual and schematic design skills
- Strong verbal presentation skills and proven ability to sell ideas
- Proficient in 2D/3D software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion/Enscape, Adobe Suite products, Office Suite products
- Experience (or related experience) in jurisdictional planning approvals, entitlements and research, presentations, site planning, and design experience
- Skilled at building material research, implementation, and sustainability
- Flexibility to support multiple teams of different project types

National Salary Ranges:
- Senior Associate 1 (Minimum 20 years of Architecture experience, domestic experience preferred): $97,700 – $158,800
- Associate Principal (Minimum 15 years of Architecture experience, domestic experience preferred): $135,000 – $179,500
If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted. Acknowledging the time employees typically spend in the role, compensation is dependent on applicable years of experience and skillset.
