Senior Technical Project Manager

MG2 is looking for a talented Senior Technical Project Manager to join our Washington, D.C. office. 

Responsibilities

  • Leads technical development of projects
  • Actively seeks value engineering solutions for technical design + delivery
  • Participates in developing technical standards for team / studio as needed
  • Leads consultant team in system selection
  • Manages production team within scope and fee budget
  • Acts as project manager setting scope and fee budget as needed
  • Identifies additional services / out of scope items as they arise and assists project manager with setting additional service budget
  • Assists with contract amendments as needed
  • Plays active role in mentoring and training staff
  • Plays active role in project QA/QC process
  • Participates in development of project specifications
  • Participates in development of team/studio technical standards, details, and specifications
  • Performs Construction Administration per requirements of the AIA A201
  • Actively participates in establishing construction budget and schedule as needed
  • Pursues innovation in technical solutions
  • Pursues innovation in sustainable design solutions
  • Produces work that demonstrates an understanding and ownership of design intent
  • Advances culture of technical design excellence
  • Creates clear, concise, and complete project documentation
  • Advances technical expertise of studio and market
  • Ensures no technical design related claims are made
  • Develops direct reports at an appropriate pace
  • Demonstrates client leadership
  • Exhibits leadership internally 
  • Participates in industry related trade group
  • Meets expectation of ability to be client facing on project level
  • Meets expectation of engagement within organization

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years prior work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical design and project management
  • Fully versed in technical design within assigned market
  • Licensed or certified professional
  • LEED AP or equivalent
  • Well-rounded knowledge base
  • Maturing, effective people management skills
  • Solid knowledge within market of construction costing, scheduling and phasing
  • Proficiency in defining and developing project documentation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use and interpretation of building codes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in selection and integration of building systems
  • Actively involved with one or more external community or professional organizations
