Fairmont Olympic Renovation

A choreographed approach to preserving a legacy

Originally opened in 1924, the Fairmont Olympic is one of the oldest, most historic buildings in Seattle. When they embarked on a restoration project, MG2 was selected as the Architect of Record, appointed to oversee the handling of code enforcement, city processes, design reviews, execution, and final delivery.

Simultaneously navigating ADA regulations and preserving the integrity of vintage finishes, fixtures, and woodwork, MG2 orchestrated the unified collaboration of our team, two additional design firms, a general contractor, and numerous city-wide stakeholders. This choreographed alliance resulted in a stunning renovation design—reflective of both historic culture and modern community—and an enduring partnership between Fairmont and MG2.
