Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation partnered with MG2 to reimagine Harborplace, a historic retail center located in the heart of downtown Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. MG2’s design reestablishes the location as a premier destination for both locals and tourists to shop, dine, and soak in the ambiance of the city. The street edges are activated by outward-facing retail and restaurant spaces that stretch from the city-side of the development through to the waterside, drawing in crowds from surrounding museums and sports stadiums.
A modern steel frame was introduced to the existing concrete buildings, blending materials from the past and present and embodying both contemporary and maritime influences. The integration of copper panels into the building’s façades promotes a strong presence and sense of unity within the new retail configuration.
