Redmond City Hall

Embodying community values through design

The City of Redmond envisioned a new city hall that would embody the community’s values while providing the functionality of a modern office complex. Through a design competition, MG2’s design was unanimously selected by the city council as their partner who would help bring the project’s vision to life.

The design for Redmond City Hall honors the community and conveys the concept of transparency in government, most clearly in the purposeful use of public spaces and material selection. Granite, limestone, and natural timber serve as a reflection of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. A glass atrium connects the wings of the building while also letting in natural light, creating a welcoming, open area for employees and visitors to enjoy. The LEED Silver building also offers abundant natural light in the office spaces, creating energy efficiencies and an inviting place to work and collaborate.
