Two mixed-use residential buildings attached by a cross block pedestrian connection.


Led by MG2 Associate Principal Steve Johnson, the team served as design architects and master planners for The Whittaker, a mixed-use project which includes apartments, retail and underground parking. The two residential buildings are attached by a cross block pedestrian connection that also functions as the service area and parking access for retailers and residents. Landscaping and green walls were incorporated into the throughway to make it feel like an outdoor amenity to residents and patrons. The design team was responsible for taking The Whittaker project through extensive design review and secured necessary approvals from the Seattle Design Commission.
