The breezy atmosphere of Tommy Bahama's latest shop and restaurant offers residents of Plano, TX the ideal escape.
In the middle of a corporate jungle, Tommy Bahama built an island oasis. The beachy lifestyle brand has a new retail location with an attached bar and restaurant in Plano’s multi-billion dollar development Legacy West.
Members of the Plano Chamber of Commerce joined Tommy Bahama representatives to cut the ribbon and officially open the doors of the 11,200-square-foot retail space on Friday morning.
Guests were greeted with fresh flower leis and fruity mocktails before getting a peek into the store’s tropical digs.
Camarena of the Chamber’s 2017 Board of Directors welcomed the brand to Plano with opening remarks, but not before getting into the Tommy Bahama spirit.
“I’m going to do something before we start — I’m going to take my tie off. It’s too hot,” he laughed.
“See? We’ve already had an impact on the community,” quipped Rob Goldberg, Tommy Bahama’s executive vice president of restaurants.
With 12 stores across the Lone Star State, including two in Dallas, Texans are well-versed in the brand’s beachy vibes. However, the Legacy West shop is one of few Tommy Bahama “islands.” Only 18 of these bar / restaurant / retail shops exist (one of which is in The Woodlands).
These elusive locations are where Tommy Bahama lives out its full potential as a 360-degree lifestyle brand.
“We’re offering an immersive guest experience,” Goldberg said. “The Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store in Plano, Texas is about a timeless spirit of relaxation and we look forward to welcoming everyone.”
In close proximity to headquarters for FedEx, Toyota, JP Morgan Chase and Liberty Mutual, the laid-back shop and restaurant is a convenient spot for a business lunch or midday escape.
Designed by retail design firm MG2, the restaurant evokes the same breezy atmosphere as Tommy Bahama’s iconic resort wear. The 250-seat bar and restaurant includes a spacious patio and options for private dining.
