Firm begins 2016 with the promotion of three key leaders and the addition of two senior designers
MG2, consistently ranked among the largest architecture firms in the nation and among the top retail design firms in the world, begins 2016 by announcing the promotion of three key leaders and the addition of two senior designers to the firm.
Myra Vaughn promoted to Principal. Vaughn joined MG2 in 2012. In her former role as associate principal, she was recognized by the ICSC as one of the top young emerging leaders in the organization’s 2013 “20 Under 40” award ceremony. She will continue leading and developing relationships with top retailers, applying her unique combination of technical skills, management experience and design expertise.
David Russell promoted to Principal. Russell, who most recently was an associate principal, has been with MG2 for five years. He brings a wide range of experience and insight to his new position due to his extensive work across retail, mixed-use and hospitality markets.
Wendy Unzelman promoted to Director of Accounting. Having previously served as the company’s controller for the past seven years, Unzelman will play a more prominent role in supporting MG2 leadership and project management teams. She will be responsible for providing guidance through accurate and timely data, while assisting the COO with the implementation and management of all finance and accounting functions.
“Myra, David and Wendy have been vital to the growth of MG2, and we are proud to recognize their contributions to our firm’s success with these promotions,” said MG2 CEO Mitchell Smith, AIA. “We are confident they will be even more effective in their new roles as MG2 continues to generate design innovation and brand value for our clients.”
MG2 is also excited to welcome two additions to the firm to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding list of retail and commercial projects. Mark Taylor joins as an associate principal in the Commercial Studio, and Christian Jochman is hired to MG2’s Retail Studio as a senior associate.
Taylor has dedicated his 20 year career to working on retail focused mixed-use destinations, providing design leadership on a wide-range of international and domestic projects. Jochman brings more than 18 years of experience, having successfully lead project-focused design for multiple retail clients around the world ranging from high-end department stores and jewelry boutiques to award-winning toy stores.
