Role Introduction

You will be working in our Client Programs (CP) Market, where you will have the unique opportunity to work on global and national building programs with a focus on project and client leadership through all phases of design and delivery.

Our new Project Manager will lead project teams through all phases of project execution including contract management, design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration. They are also responsible for managing project schedules, and the financial performance of the work. Externally they focus on building strong client relationships, and upholding MG2s standard for design excellence while serving as the main point of contact for all project related communication.

What your day will look like:

  • Manage project teams through all project phases. Primary responsibility is ensuring project deliverables are aligned with the contract, completed in conformance with the project schedule and budget, and continually meet MG2 standards for quality. 
  • Ensure required contracts are in place prior to beginning execution of contract deliverables. 
  • Create and maintain accurate milestone-based project schedules and staffing workplans. 
  • Create and maintain detailed Project Charters including a comprehensive QA/QC plan for all project work.
  • Assist with the development of project proposals and RFP responses as requested.
  • Continuously monitor project financial status and complete intermediate financial reviews with Team Leads or Principal-in-Charge (PIC). 
  • Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
  • Produce weekly project updates, including documentation regarding contract deliverables, financial updates, contracts, and permitting reports. Issue weekly project updates to all project stakeholders.    
  • Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings. 
  • Actively participate in all Quality Control procedures including review of all externally distributed project deliverables. 
  • Oversee all team activities during Construction Administration including weekly reviews of RFI and Submittal logs and attendance during project OAC meetings. Additional responsibilities include detailed review of all site visit reports and punch lists prior to issuance. 
  • Host both internal and external project debrief meetings following completion of construction activities; focus on opportunities to continuously improve service level and results. 
  • Initiate project-close out procedures following substantial completion; finalize in alignment with contractual obligations. 
  • Manage internal and external resources; ensure consistent quality and project profitability. 
  • Continuously manage the performance of team members; consistently provide accurate and relevant feedback as needed. 
  • Perform monthly 1:1 check-ins with all internal team members. (People Managers Only) 
  • Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews (People Managers Only)

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • Certification as a license professional preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone-based project delivery. 
  • Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Auto-CAD, and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams. 
  •  Has experience working on Manufacturing/Industrial project types

Project Manager: $80,000 – $124,000

Role Introduction

Specification writers at this level are focused on the production and coordination of the construction specifications. They are the primary contact for project teams for matters related to the specifications like product and material recommendations and performance expectations. They maintain a network of experienced product representatives and monitor the industry for changes that protect and enhance the firm and our projects.

What your day will look like:

  • Owns responsibility for overall project specifications, including supporting design intent during project execution, with limited oversight
  • Develops specifications as appropriate for each project phase
  • Ensure adherence to firm-wide documentation standards and procedures, including proper use of MG2 templates. Provide guidance to other staff members regarding implementation of design standards as required
  • Handles Quality Control of project documents (internal team review)
  • Develops, improves and maintains master specifications for cross-market clients
  • Supports local and regional offices in material research, selection and specification as well as material conflict issues throughout project phases
  • Provides support for project teams with product submittal reviews, substitution requests, and information requests, as it relates to project specifications
  • Manages technical aspects of project specifications delivery
  • Owns responsibility for code and constructability issues on project as it relates to project specifications
  • Owns responsibility for assembling and coordinating specification deliverables with limited oversight
  • Maintain and build relationships with vendors, suppliers, and product representatives
  • Maintain relationship and coordinate with Client National account managers
  • Implements sustainable design (such as LEED, LBC, CALGreen) in project specifications as required by project
  • Produce accurate and timely work in accordance with the project schedule and workplans. Work should demonstrate understanding of contractual obligations, design intent, and the project budget

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Minimum of 3 years prior specifications writing experience within a related field
  • Experience with the building types of the assigned market (Multi-Family Housing, mixed-use, entertainment, retail, commercial, industrial, light medical with a robust variety of building systems)
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent
  • CSI’s Certification such as CDT (Construction Documents Technologist) or CCS (Certified Construction Specifier) or equivalent
  • LEED Green Associate, LEED AP or equivalent
  • Demonstrated expertise in collaboration software such as Bluebeam and Teams
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination of construction materials with vendors and material suppliers
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of architectural project specifications for multiple small- to large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building codes, building systems, and construction material standards
  • Proficient with MS Word and specification writing software such as SpecLink is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of the architectural design and delivery process and construction sequencing and execution
  • Working knowledge of complete Construction Documents and integration of specifications

Role Introduction 

As our Estimator II, you will support the senior staff in all project related tasks such as comparisons, material and labor investigations, and other pricing needs and requirements. You will be working in our Client Programs (CP) Market, where you will have the unique opportunity to work on global and national building programs with a focus on project and client leadership through all phases of design and delivery. Every day you will prepare conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates, perform quantity surveys and provide value engineering suggestions to team during estimation process. To thrive you must have commercial construction estimating experience and understanding of architecture and construction.

What your day will look like:

  • Performs detailed takeoffs of materials and trades for all CSI divisions as required to complete estimates and to support senior staff.
  • Prepares labor, material, and equipment pricing research and applies to estimates.
  • Provides conceptual, preliminary, schematic, and design development estimates for new construction, remodels, small infrastructure type projects. Expected to provide detailed breakdowns for all major CSI divisions.
  • Prepare detailed narratives for estimates to convey scope of work to client.
  • Review estimates with Senior staff for comments and QA.
  • Supports the team in all project related tasks such as comparisons, material and labor investigations, and other pricing needs and requirements.
  • Provides impromptu spreadsheets and cost comparisons at the client’s request
  • Updates Cost Management’s historical database
  • Performs bid review
  • Perform change order review
  • Meet with project managers, consultants, and clients as required to acquire necessary information for estimates, bids, and budgets. This would include drawings, specifications, reports, clarification of scope etc.
  • Provide value engineering suggestions to team during the estimation process.
  • Visits building sites for clients as required.
  • Attends client team management and project kickoff meetings as required
  • Attends all Cost Management team meetings or functions as required
  • Produces accurate and consistent work
  • Adheres to assigned schedule
  • Monitors time spent on all projects to ensure profitability and efficiency
  • Updates Cost Management’s historical database

  • Minimum of 3 years construction estimating experience
  • Experience within commercial construction industry preferred

  • Produce weekly project updates, including documentation regarding contract deliverables, financial updates, contracts, and permitting reports. Issue weekly project updates to all project stakeholders.    
  • Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings. 
  • Actively participate in all Quality Control procedures including review of all externally distributed project deliverables. 
  • Oversee all team activities during Construction Administration including weekly reviews of RFI and Submittal logs and attendance during project OAC meetings. Additional responsibilities include detailed review of all site visit reports and punch lists prior to issuance. 
  • Host both internal and external project debrief meetings following completion of construction activities; focus on opportunities to continuously improve service level and results. 
  • Initiate project-close out procedures following substantial completion; finalize in alignment with contractual obligations. 
  • Manage internal and external resources; ensure consistent quality and project profitability. 
  • Continuously manage the performance of team members; consistently provide accurate and relevant feedback as needed. 
  • Perform monthly 1:1 check-ins with all internal team members. (People Managers Only) 
  • Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews (People Managers Only)

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • Certification as a license professional preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone-based project delivery. 
  • Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Auto-CAD, and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams. 
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

National Salary Ranges:

Project Manager: $80,000 – $124,000

Senior Project Manager: $100,000 – $152,000

Please note that this role is a salaried and exempt position, and therefore, is not eligible for overtime pay.

If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted. Acknowledging the time employees typically spend in the role, compensation is dependent on applicable years of experience and skillset.
