If you are a retail designer like MJ Munsell and me there is nothing better than NYC during the holidays.
If you are a retail designer like MJ Munsell and me, there is nothing better than NYC during the holidays. A favorite pastime is visiting our favorite department stores to see what creative masterpieces their teams have designed for holiday windows. In addition to seeing the windows and scouting out new retail concepts during our latest trip, we also celebrated with PAVE during their annual gala, which benefits educational programs for students interested in merchandising, retail design and planning.
Check out the highlights from our trip in the photo galleries below.
We hit the ground running…landed at JFK and then off to one of our favorite publication’s – design:retail – CityScene party where we caught up with industry friends.
Seeing the Rockefeller tree never gets old!
We started the day with Stylus. Stylus is a resource MG2 uses to keep up with consumer lifestyle trends that impact design and innovation across markets. We loved their office space, especially this artistic mural and staircase!
If you find yourself in New York and need inspiration and / or retail therapy, we recommend visiting Muji, & Other Stories, the Valentino flagship, Totokaelo and Moschino. Pictured: & Other Stories
Who doesn’t love walking the red carpet from time to time? We were honored to celebrate with PAVE during the 19th annual gala.
Lots of glitz, glam and sparkle with this year’s windows! We loved Bergdorf Goodman’s windows and even got a behind-the-scenes peek at Barney’s Chillin’ Out scene.
Korean beauty products are all the rage so we head to Chinatown to find Tony Moly to stock up on all things beauty!
While exploring Brookfield Place, we had to stop by and check out The Museum of Feelings. This new museum’s exterior changes color to reflect the mood of the city by utilizing social media and other real-time data.
