Working with Kroger-owned Fred Meyer, MG2 built and renovated several locations to create a street-friendly presence.
Since 1922, Fred Meyer has evolved into a one-stop destination where consumers can find everything from groceries to gasoline. As Fred Meyer’s aspirations escalated, so did their need for an experienced partner to manage complex projects with a variety of stakeholders. MG2 has been that partner since 1998.
Together, MG2 and Fred Meyer have designed six new stores and refreshed or expanded more than 80 existing locations. Through the design process, MG2’s expertise in sustainable design has helped to introduce a lasting impact for the Fred Meyer brand. The MG2-designed Hawthorne, OR Fred Meyer location became the first of Kroger’s 2,500 stores nationwide to be awarded LEED Silver certification, setting the standard for such large-format retail stores.
For each store location, MG2 worked to create a street-friendly presence and find opportunities for integration and localization to help Fred Meyer stores become fixtures in their communities.
