By eliminating inefficiencies and creating an environment that embraces the historic character of Trolley Square, MG2 revitalized the retail experience.
Trolley Square began as a trolley barn more than 100 years ago and is now a historic landmark. Preserving the historical integrity of Trolley Square was paramount when MG2 embarked on the $80 million renovation of the retail center’s core interior spaces and master plan of the extended site.
MG2’s space-utilization plan eliminated a maze of corridors, creating a more efficient floor plan converging around an inviting central court with integrated vertical circulation. The changes revitalized the underperforming center, adding more than 24,000 SF of space. Today, prominent national retailers, restaurants, and a new 30,000 SF Whole Foods grocery store create a truly unique shopping experience in downtown Salt Lake City.
