MG2 designed a camp experience filled with activities and adventures tailored to families and their children’s medical needs.
Camp Korey is a non-profit camp that operates week-long programs for children with long-term medical needs. In 2016, the camp acquired a 200-acre property in Mt. Vernon, WA and engaged MG2 to develop a phased master plan for the site addressing short and long-term operational goals. The new property will allow Camp Korey to significantly increase the number of campers served and medical conditions it is able to support.
The site features multiple existing buildings from a previous camp, including cabins and a dining hall, but their scattered configuration and architectural accessibility issues make them unideal for Camp Korey’s operations. The master plan re-envisions the site with several current buildings undergoing renovation and dozens of ground-up buildings being constructed alongside them. These efforts will create a connected experience that promotes emotional unity among campers and allows staff to efficiently manage healthcare logistics.
